VALENCIA!
Catching the train to Valencia is such a great way to see the countryside! Huge rugged mountains and jagged cliffs, beautiful sea and little villages that really make you feel like you are in Spain! Heaps of picturesque casas with wonderful gardens!
On my journey, I thought it such a pity that Australia was colonised by the british instead of the Spainish, who I think are much more suited to an Australian climate and lifestyle than the brits!
As part of my usual plan of having no plan, it didnt occur to me to take any food on the 5 and half hour journey (on the cheap, but slow train option!). So here i am on this train, starving, until i realised I had my museli in my pack! So in desparation, there i am picking out all the seeds and nuts, and trying to avoid the oats - which I found out taste like crap if not softened with milk! It did occur to me to mug the gentleman who was eating a block of chocolate accross from me though!
On arrival, i found there was NO accomodation available except for pensions from 60 euros a night! Luckily I bumped into two mexican guys who were also looking for a room and tagged along with them, hoping to share the cost! We stayed in this pension run by two old guys, one who kept yelling at me in spainish (for what indescretion I still have no idea!)
I have since moved to a cool youth hostel painted in bright funky colours which also has a kitchen (bless!) and managed to make myself spag bog, cause there´s only so long you can survive on nectarines and baguettes!
