From one extreme to the other! I have moved from my own little room to a hostel in Plaza Reial with about 100 people! Good news is that I get breakfast included, free internet and the bedroom is airconditioned! Not to mention the fact that i am meeting heaps of fellow travellers!
Last night whilst trying to find the bar Sugar again, which proved impossible! - i stumbled accross a great reggae bar with funky decor and then another bar called Manchester - which as you imagine, plays manchester music! Met two great guys, both australian - first i have met since coming here and proceeded to hook up with another couple also from australia! It was the first time in barcelona that i have had a conversation purely in english! Was kinda weird at first and I kept saying everything in a spainish accent!
I´ve learnt with spainish that if you dont know the right word, you just put on an accent and add io or ent to the end and most times they get what you are saying!
So as you can imagine, we proceeded to chat, drink and listen to great musica! Also met this girl Angela who told me about a website called couch surfing, where people let you stay on their couches all over the world for free! Cool - will have to check it out!
Having a chill day today and planning to go on a Guadi mission tomorrow, as all I have done since i got here has been to party with people and wander the streets in the barri gothic!
I cant believe how much barcelona feels like home already! Its such a delight to wander around until you find a bar that takes your fancy! The people are wonderfully friendly and there is a spirit of liveliness here that is incredibly infectious and seductive!
