GRANADA!

So my plan of slleping on the bus and thus saving myself a nights accomodation was all very good in theory, except I spent the whole time freaking out that I would sleep through my stop and end up in Algecirez! We're talking Spainish transport here, and I'm pretty sure the bus driver wouldnt give a damn where I got off and certainly wasnt going to leave his comfy seat to wake me! So bleary eyed, I arrive at Granada (after asking 4 people just to be sure) at 5am and get to hang out in the cafe until the buses to town start at 7am. Lucky for me I have mastered Spainish for coffee - "Par favor, cuero uno cafe con leche" I am entertained by two Spainish guys that can hardly speak english except for "Ahh - you Australian - Australian good!" With much frivolity, we attempt a conversation.

Travel tip - If you're planning on visiting a foriegn country and dont speak the language - get damn good at charades!

On catching the bus into town, I bump into another solo female traveller from China and we decide to head off to the Alhambra and get in early as often the tickets sell out apparently! The funny thing is we wandered for about three hours around the Alhambra together and never even exchanged names!
